A recent young visitor to First United Methodist Church of Alice was asked how he heard about the church. "My mom heard that it was a fun place. You do lots of fun things."

First United Methodist Church of
Alice, located on the corner of First and Adams Streets,
has been an active part of the community for the past
125 years. On November 23rd that occasion will be
celebrated!
In the very early days the people gathered in homes and
even in a railway car. Early citizens of Alice knew that
they needed the fellowship found in a community of
believers. The same is true today. The struggles and
challenges may be a bit different, but there are still
struggles and challenges.
There are also things to celebrate, and there is no
better place to do that than the church! FUMC invites
everyone in the community to come and see all the good
things happening. Each Sunday morning, Pastor Larry
McRorey invites individuals to share their celebrations
and prayer concerns during the 10:15 worship service.
What a blessing it is to do so! Other opportunities to
gather as a church community exist each week.
Everyone is invited to attend church school classes on
Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. Classes are available for all
ages. Tuesday and Thursday mornings exercise classes for
seniors are held, and on Wednesdays the choir meets at
6:30 p.m. Also meeting at 6:30 is the CrossBar
Coffeehouse. This is a great time for youth in grades
8-12 to come together for some fun and fellowship. It is
the place to be on Wednesday evenings!
