Who We Are
First United Methodist Church is an historic fellowship of believers located in downtown Alice, Texas. Established in 1883, the Methodist Church has been a powerful and enduring witness to the love and grace of Jesus Christ in this "hub city" of South Texas for over 125 years.
The first Methodists of the community met in a brush arbor, in members' homes, and even in a railway car before the first church building was erected. Today, we continue in the faith traditions of those who have come before us as we seek to minister in faithful expression of bringing the good news of salvation to our sisters and brothers in this community and the surrounding area.
