Missions...

Your Missions Committee has been hard at work and we want to pass on to you the programs we have planned for the coming months. We have created an Alternative Giving Guide that we plan to have available by the mid February. These guides will be placed in the church pews as well as the church office. This guide offers numerous giving options that we hope will give you ideas for birthdays, anniversaries, memorials, etc. We hope that you will take the time to browse through them and find them useful.

A Sock Mission is being planned for February through Easter and comes to us through our children’s Sunday School. We will have a box in the back of the sanctuary from February 3rd through Easter Sunday to hold new and unused socks of all sizes and styles. We will be donating the socks to the Wesley Center in Robstown, the Methodist mission in Laredo, and the South Texas Women’s and Children’s Shelter in Alice. Our goal is to collect enough socks that we can send a large quantity to all three worthwhile organizations.

Look for another SERRV table on April 27th and May 4th just in time for Mother’s day! We are in the process of getting the updated catalog and will be giving you the opportunity to preorder items in mid March. We hope to be able to offer a greater variety of handcrafted items and merchandise for you to purchase this time around.

Other upcoming mission projects include a Father’s Day program from June through August that will coincide with this year’s Heifer International VBS as well as a community CROP (Christian Relief On Poverty) Walk to raise awareness and funding to fight hunger and hunger related issues in our community.

We are looking forward to all the programs and mission opportunities that are planned for the upcoming months and we hope that you are excited with us. Please join us in our enthusiasm with your support, assistance, or participation! If you’d like to be a part of this committee or have a mission or outreach opportunity you would like to be considered, please contact Janie Lorberau at 701-4720.

Your Mission Committee in Christ,

Janie, Cathy, Susan, Laura, Lisa, and Seana

Thinking Theologically

Each topical study in the Thinking Theologically series teaches teens how to apply biblical principles to real world situations.  Teens are naturally inclined to question everything! This curriculum is designed to channel that tendency into investigative reasoning, equipping them for life by training them how to think instead of telling them what to think.

Facilitated by Seana Towler, Judy Holmgreen and Pastor Larry
