THE ROSE WINDOW - Dedicated on November 9, 1958

In this remarkable stained glass production, The Savior of the World stands firmly upon the rock of faith on which the church of Jesus Christ continues to be built. Rising victorious over sin and death, Christ beckons His blessing on all who leave this sanctuary to follow the command of the Great Commission to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Blended across the continents are the colors of BLUE, representing Heaven and the love that Christ gives; BROWN which is the color of spiritual death and degradation; GREEN which is the color of spring and symbolizes everlasting life over death. Emanating from around the figure of Christ is the brilliance of the rays of WHITE, symbolic of the innocence of the soul and the purity and holiness of life as reflected in the Scripture, “Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.” (Psalms 51:7)

All of this is enclosed in a circle, itself symbolic of eternity and never ending existence. The overarching message of the window conveys to worshippers that in a created world order full of plants and trees; of human habitation and the earthly Church - an earth in which the Cross was planted, Christ is sovereign and reigns supreme – Christ is the “Hope of the World.”
